GREENSBORO, N.C. — Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) has achieved a remarkable milestone by being named one of the ten best small airports in the country according to USA Today’s 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. This recognition places PTIA as the tenth-best small airport in the nation, a distinction determined by votes from travellers and aviation enthusiasts across America.
A Testament to Excellence: Piedmont Triad International Airport
The accolade highlights PTIA’s commitment to providing an exceptional travel experience. The airport serves the Piedmont Triad region, including Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Major airlines such as American, Delta, and United operate flights out of PTIA, which is known for its motto, “fly easy.” This motto reflects the airport’s efficient operations characterised by short lines, minimal crowds, and a variety of on-site rental car options.
In addition to its ranking, PTIA has expanded its direct service offerings this year, adding flights to popular destinations like Denver and Washington, D.C. Kevin Baker, Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority, expressed pride in this achievement: “PTI’s inclusion in this year’s top 10 is a testament to our commitment to creating an easy and enjoyable experience for passengers who call PTI home. Unique Position in North Carolina
Notably, PTIA is the only airport in North Carolina to make it onto this prestigious list. The competition included various small airports across the United States, with Myrtle Beach International Airport in South Carolina taking the top spot.
