Dan Bishop sues Jeff Jackson’s campaign over alleged defamation.

UNION COUNTY, N.C-(WGHP)- The Republican Dan Bishop(R-District 8) has filed a defamation lawsuit against Democrat Jeff Jackson ( D-District 14)as well as the North Carolina Democratic party, Democratic attorneys general association inc. DAGA North Carolina people’s lawyer project, 10 unidentified individuals and a marketing firm, on Oct. 3, in Union County.

According to the lawsuit the surveyor then asked the recipient a series of questions. One of the questions asked was, would you be more or less likely to vote for Dan Bishop for Attorney general,if you knew that as a lawyer, he represented people who stole money from the elderly? Or words substantially to that effect. Bishop claims that this question sounded as a factual “assertion “about Bishop’s law practice and says the assertion is false.

Bishop filed the lawsuit against the of Rep. Jeff Jackson.

Bishop alleges that some or all of the defendants conspired in words of the lawsuit, to defame him. Bishop claims that, on July 29 , 2024 the Delaware – based marketing research firm Dynata called a home in union county to conduct a political survey that resident had agreed to participate in. The lawsuit, filed in Union County, also targets several Democratic organizations and individuals for allegedly conspiring to defame him. Jackson’s campaign anticipates a swift resolution, asserting that the lawsuit is a continuation of past political tactics in North Carolina elections.
