DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. – A vehicle fire has led to the closure of all lanes on Interstate 85 North in Davidson County, as reported by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). The incident has significantly impacted traffic flow and caused delays for commuters.
The closure affects the area at Exit 102 for Lake Road, in the vicinity of East Davidson High School and Lawson Brown Middle School. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, resulting in severe congestion on I-85 northbound.

Due to the ongoing vehicle fire, authorities are advising drivers to take Exit 96 for US 64 East. From there, motorists should continue on US 64 to NC 109, where they can regain access to I-85 at Exit 103. This detour aims to alleviate some of the traffic pressure caused by the closure.
