RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Musicians and music fans gathered at Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater Sunday night to raise funds for Western North Carolina through the ‘Music for the Mountains’ benefit concert.
The event, organized by Band Together, successfully raised $1,104,000. Band Together, known for using music to support non-profits, partnered with local talent and leaders to make a meaningful impact. “We’re thrilled to do our part,” said Thorne Daubenspeck, Executive Director of Band Together. “There’s so much need, and coming together through live music is a powerful way to help.”
Impact of Raleigh Concert Beyond Funds Raised
BJ Barham, lead singer of American Aquarium, was honored to lend his voice and talent to the cause. “When people ask what I can do, I’m happy to help in any way I can, especially through music,” he shared.
The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina received 100% of proceeds from ticket sales, food, merchandise, and a telethon. President and CEO Elizabeth Brazas expressed gratitude, highlighting that the musicians’ efforts not only provided financial aid but also lifted community spirits. “The support from these talented artists is truly inspiring,” she said.
