Former NC Teacher Charged with Sex Crime with a Student in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A former substitute teacher from Luther Nick Jeralds Middle School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, faces charges of a sex crime with a student. The Fayetteville Police Department confirmed that Brandon Cromartie, 31, was arrested on October 27 for allegedly engaging in inappropriate conduct with a student last year.

The charge, a felony count of indecent liberties with a student, follows an investigation initiated by recent evidence. Cromartie, who was a middle school substitute teacher at the time, was taken into custody and given a $25,000 secured bond, which he has since posted. He has been released from the Cumberland County Detention Center.
