Western NC bands hold events to benefit Hurricane Helene victims

GREENSBORO,N.C.(WGHP)- The Western North Carolina bands held a benefit concert in Greensboro on November 6, 2024, to support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

Organized by the North Carolina Folk Festival, the event featured performances from various local artists, including Clint Roberts, lead singer of the band, ” Holler choir” kickstart the concert.

The concert took place at the Steven Tanger center for the performing arts in Greensboro.

” The part of the Western N.C, where I call home was hit hard by the storm but not very quite a scale of other sections of Asheville and all other town that I mentioned, towns like Brevard where I grew up have struggle to recover, Roberts said.

All proceeds from the concert will aid victims affected by the hurricane, with funds directed towards relief organizations working in the region. This initiative is part of broader efforts across the state to raise awareness and funds for those impacted by the disaster.
