( THE HILL)-Homes owned by Brian Thompson, the recently murdered CEO of UnitedHealthcare, were targeted by fake bomb threats shortly after his death in New York City. According to the what Tribune said, Hennepin county property records shows the homes belong to Thompson and his wife, Paulette Thompson. The threats, classified as “swatting,” were reported on December 4 and involved emails sent to multiple recipients, prompting police action.

The threats were made several hours after Thompson was shot in New York city, ahead of a scheduled investor meeting that will be held at a hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
He was targeted from behind and was shot multiple times, both in the back and his calf, this happened outside the Manhattan hotel, according to what the New York city police has said. Thompson was was immediately rushed to a nearby local hospital, unfortunately, he died some minutes later, due to the severe wounds from the gunshot
Regarding to what the police department said, there’s no devices or suspicious items were located during the investigation. The police make this statement known that, “The case was considered an active investigation, while the incident appears to a hoax.
