According to FOX8, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2025. Burlington police were responding to reports of gunfire near the 700 block of North Church Street when one of their patrol cars collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Anthony Street and South Church Street.

Officials confirmed that 3 people were injured in the crash, including two officers and one civilian. All were transported to local hospitals with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
