Mother and uncle arrested in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The mother and uncle of a child discovered walking alone in a Greensboro neighborhood earlier this month are now facing child abuse charges, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

Incident Report – Mother and uncle arrested in Greensboro

On August 8, around 7:00 p.m., deputies were called to the intersection of Sidon Drive and Jonquil Drive in the Crown Home Mobile Park after receiving reports of a young girl wandering by herself.

Authorities launched an investigation, which later resulted in charges against the girl’s relatives.

Officials say 34-year-old Natali Suarez, the child’s mother, and 25-year-old Gabriel Suarez, the girl’s uncle, were both charged with misdemeanor child abuse.

With help from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Gabriel Suarez was taken into custody and booked into the Randolph County Detention Center on a $2,500 secured bond.

Natali Suarez later surrendered at the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Ongoing Case

No further details about the child’s condition have been released, but deputies confirmed she was safely removed from the situation. The case remains under investigation.
