GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 35-year-old woman found dead in Greensboro on Monday afternoon has prompted a homicide investigation, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Authorities say the incident unfolded around 1:36 p.m. when the Greensboro Fire Department, Guilford County EMS, and police officers responded to a “cardiac call” in the 1500 block of McConnell Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Meyling Mercedes Carrion-Ruiz, 35, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not released details about how Carrion-Ruiz died, but they confirmed the case is being treated as a homicide.
