SPRING HOPE, N.C. — A tragic case of domestic chaos has left a 25-year-old North Carolina mother killed near Spring Hope, sparking heartbreak and grief for her family and community.

Young Mother Found Dead After Domestic Disturbance
According to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance just before 2 a.m. Friday on Nick At Nite Lane. Hours later, 25-year-old Estrella Florez Silva, known affectionately as “Star,” was found dead along a road about two miles southeast of Spring Hope.
Investigators quickly identified and arrested 30-year-old Samuel Sanchez Lopez of Spring Hope. He was charged with first-degree murder and booked into jail under a $2 million bond.
Family Describes Silva as a “Beautiful Soul”
Silva’s sister, Adan Flores, described her as a vibrant young woman who loved life and was deeply devoted to her two sons.
“She was loved by many people, a beautiful soul. She was young, smart, and talented,” Flores said in a statement on a fundraising website. “Star was a very dedicated mother who enjoyed watching her kids grow. We’re all going to miss her so much.”
Family photos shared online show Silva smiling with her children, capturing memories that will now serve as a reminder of her short but impactful life.
Community Rallies With Support
By Monday evening, the family’s GoFundMe fundraiser had raised nearly $15,000 of its $20,000 goal. Funds will go toward funeral expenses and supporting Silva’s young sons.
“If you can please donate, little or small, we would really appreciate it,” Flores wrote. “We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts.”
