ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Two people were killed and several others critically injured after a mass shooting erupted during a Halloween party in Robeson County early Saturday morning, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. near Dixon Road and McGirt Gin Road, outside of Maxton. When officers arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed that 13 people were shot in total.
More than 150 partygoers reportedly fled the scene before deputies arrived. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said the incident occurred during what appeared to be a large Halloween party in Robeson County.
