HIGH POINT, N.C. — A missing 18-year-old High Point woman found safe after authorities issued an Ashanti Alert early Tuesday morning.
According to the High Point Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance around 12:05 a.m. in the 500 block of Rolling Green Drive.
A 911 caller reported that an 18-year-old woman had been assaulted by a man who then drove off with her in a vehicle. The suspect was later identified as 22-year-old Jairee Ledbetter of High Point.
Police confirmed that the woman has since been safely located in High Point, but Ledbetter remains at large. Investigators say he may be driving a black 2013 BMW 320i sedan with a temporary tag and a broken window.
Authorities continue their search for Ledbetter and urge anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact High Point Police immediately.
