
The City of Greensboro has activated its White Flag Warming Center at First Baptist Church, 1000 W. Friendly Avenue, to offer safe overnight shelter from 7 p.m. Monday, November 10 to 7 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, and again Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, November 12.
The center will be staffed by the Community Safety Department, whose trained team members are ready to assist vulnerable populations and coordinate support services.
Greensboro Activates White Flag Warming Center
The City of Greensboro is opening White Flag Warming Centers tonight in response to the dangerously low overnight temperatures expected in the area.
These warming centers are designed to provide a safe, heated space for individuals and families without adequate housing during extreme weather conditions.
Location and Hours of Operation
The designated warming center will be located at:
First Baptist Church
1000 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC
The center will be open from 7 p.m. Monday, November 10, until 7 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, and will reopen Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, November 12.
Guests will receive access to a warm, safe environment, rest areas, and assistance connecting to community services when needed.
Operated by the Community Safety Department
The Community Safety Department will oversee and staff the center throughout the activation period.
Department personnel are specifically trained to work with special populations and can coordinate additional services upon request, ensuring every guest receives proper care and attention.
