
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A devastating early-morning crash on NC-62 in Burlington left two teenagers dead and four others injured on Thursday, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Authorities say the crash happened at 4:44 a.m., when a Dodge pickup truck carrying six people veered off the roadway at a high speed, triggering a violent chain of events that ended in tragedy.
High-Speed Pickup Truck Loses Control
Investigators report that the truck was traveling southbound on NC-62 when the driver crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the highway. The truck then struck a pole shed, causing it to roll multiple times.
Troopers say at least three occupants were ejected during the rollovers, all of whom suffered severe injuries.
Two Teenagers Dead, Several More Hurt
Two of the teens inside the truck did not survive the crash. Their identities are being withheld until next of kin are notified.
Four other victims were injured — their conditions have not yet been released.
Troopers confirmed that the driver survived.

State troopers continue examining evidence from the scene, including speed, roadway conditions, and potential contributing factors.
