Residents Describe Ongoing Concerns About Gun Violence

Witnesses at the party told News13 that the scene sounded “like a war zone” as gunfire broke out. Nearby resident Rev. James L. Shaver, who has lived in the area for about 20 years, said hearing gunshots has become disturbingly common.

“We’ve been in the area for about 20 years — it’s shootings going crazy — and you get used to it,” Shaver said. “You’ve got to have peace of mind… You gotta stay loose and say God is in charge.”

Investigation Ongoing

Police say there is no current threat to the public, but the investigation remains active. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact police immediately.
