GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are investigating the city’s first homicide of the year after a missing man was found dead inside a tent on Monday, and a suspect has now been charged with first-degree murder.
Police Respond to Missing Person Call on Hornaday Road
Officers with the Greensboro Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Squad responded to the 5600 block of Hornaday Road after receiving a report of a missing person. When they arrived at the scene, officers discovered the missing man deceased.
Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Alexander Michael Reichman. Authorities said Reichman was found inside a tent and appeared to have suffered traumatic injuries.
Homicide detectives located a witness who told police that an assault had allegedly occurred between Reichman and 38-year-old Jonathan David Huskins prior to Reichman’s death.

Suspect Arrested and Charged With First-Degree Murder
Police later located Huskins and took him into custody on an unrelated warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. While Huskins was detained, investigators developed probable cause linking him to Reichman’s death.
Huskins has since been charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held in jail without bond.
Authorities say they are not seeking any additional suspects at this time. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence related to the homicide.
