GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — One person died in a head-on crash on Summit Avenue late Thursday night, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Crash Reported Near Helen Road
Police say officers were called to the area of Summit Avenue and Helen Road around 11:50 p.m. after reports of a serious crash with injuries.
The driver of the Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Highlander was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. No update on that person’s condition has been released.
Summit Avenue was closed in both directions between Southern Webbing Mill Road and Yarbrough Drive for several hours into early Friday morning. The crash remains under investigation by the GPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
