Woman Assaults Officer After Fatal Shooting at Memphis Nightclub

A woman is now in jail for assaulting an officer after a fatal shooting at a nightclub on Summer Avenue, according to Memphis Police. The incident occurred at James Lounge, where two people lost their lives and another was critically injured.

Details of the Incident – Woman Assaults Officer

Raven Crawford, 32, has been charged with assault on a first responder and disorderly conduct. She is currently being held on a $7,500 bond. The Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded to the scene of the shooting and encountered Crawford, who refused to leave the crime scene.

Reports indicate that Crawford began to push one of the officers. When another officer intervened, she allegedly pushed that officer as well. 

In the ensuing altercation, the second officer punched Crawford, who retaliated. The officer then struck Crawford again before backing off. Eventually, the first officer was able to arrest her.

Crawford’s next court date is scheduled for Thursday morning. 

Meanwhile, police are still searching for those responsible for the shooting.
