Greenville Man Charged with Robbing North Carolina Bank

A Greenville man charged after allegedly robbing a North Carolina bank on Thursday. James Scott Bayne Jr., 38, was arrested on Friday following a swift investigation by local authorities.

According to the Hendersonville Police Department, Bayne was identified as the suspect in the robbery of the State Employees Credit Union located on Commercial Boulevard in Hendersonville. The incident occurred around 9:23 a.m. when Bayne reportedly approached a bank employee wearing a medical face mask and handed over a note demanding cash.

After the robbery, police were alerted, and an investigation was launched. By around 10 p.m. on Friday, Greenville Police located and apprehended Bayne. He is currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center while awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Bayne has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, highlighting the seriousness of the crime. The quick response from law enforcement underscores their commitment to ensuring community safety and addressing criminal activities, such as robbing North Carolina banks.
