TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)- A 14-year-old boy was found floating on a fence in floodwaters in Tampa after Hurricane Milton caused significant flooding in the area. The boy who was floating on a street in front of a small grocery store where the rescue team saved him.

Following what Marino of Next star’s WFLA, Chronister explained, he said the boy had just evacuated from Hurricane Milton and he’s staying at a friend’s house. However, when he tried to go back home after the storm, he underestimate how deep the water was and couldn’t swim well enough to get through.
Chronister said, it was completely out of a castaway movie, seeing him laying on the top of a fence, waving at the rescue team. Fortunately he was pulled out of the floodwater and was helped to solid ground before continuing home safely.
Rescuers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office saved him, highlighting the storm’s impact, which included over 135 rescues from various locations due to unprecedented flooding. The hurricane brought heavy rain, with some areas receiving up to 18 inches, leading to extensive damage and power outages across Florida.
