SURRY COUNTY, N•C( WGHP)- A couple whose names are Jodi and Joseph Wilson were indicted on October 9, 2024, by a grand jury for felony child abuse resulting in serious injury, nearly two years after their adopted son died from a brain injury in Surry County, North Carolina.
Skyler Wilson died as a result of Severe brain injuries.
The 4- year -old boy whose name was Skyler Wilson was hospitalized suffering from a hypoxic brain injury, which lead to a restriction that prevents oxygen to the brain. The doctor stated that his brain injuries were consistent with too much restrictions, during which the so called Swaddling was used.
Swaddling is said to be a technique used to comfort and help babies sleep with a blanket wrapped around the baby’s body. Besides Swaddling is not advisable for infant that is old enough to to roll over it’s own.
The Wilsons are now facing serious legal repercussions as the case progresses through the judicial system and both Jodi and Joseph will appear in court on Jan 13,2025.
