WINSTON-SALEM, N.C, ( WGHP)- Chase Elliott achieved a historic victory at the Cook Out Clash held at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 2, 2025. This marked the first NASCAR Cup Series event at the venue since 1971, and Elliott dominated the race, leading 171 of the 200 laps. He started from pole position after winning his heat race and showcased impressive control throughout the event, especially in the closing laps against fellow driver Ryan Blsaney, who finished second.
Chase Elliott’s Victory
Elliott’s performance included leading the first 97 laps and reclaiming the lead after losing it briefly to Denny Hamlin around the halfway point. Despite facing challenges from competitors, he successfully navigated lapped traffic and maintained his edge to secure the win. This victory not only adds to his accolades but also places him alongside his father, Bill Elliott, as a winner of this exhibition event.
The race was characterized by its competitive spirit, with no cautions in the final 80 laps, allowing for an uninterrupted battle among the top drivers. Denny Hamlin finished third, followed by Joey Logano and Bubba Wallace in fourth and fifth places, respectively.
