Highway Patrol reports that a married couple traveling with their two children lost control of their vehicle and collided with another car. Both adults died at the scene, while their children sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed that the children’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
Traffic along I-85/40 was heavily impacted for several hours as emergency responders worked at the scene. Troopers diverted vehicles while investigators examined the cause of the wreck.
