GREENSBORO, N.C. — A stretch of Creek Ridge Road was shut down early Friday morning following a crash that left one person with critical injuries, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Details of the Incident – Crash on Creek Ridge Road

Police say the accident, which involved a vehicle and a bicyclist, happened at around 4:51 a.m. between Lynhaven Drive and Riverside Drive. The individual struck in the crash sustained life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have not yet released information on what caused the collision.

Both directions of Creek Ridge Road were blocked for nearly four hours as officers investigated, reopening at approximately 8:36 a.m.

The closure also affected morning traffic near TMSA Triad Secondary School, which sits along that section of the road. According to the school’s schedule, doors open at 7:15 a.m., with breakfast served until 7:40 a.m. and classes beginning shortly after.

Police at the scene allowed vehicles headed to the school to pass through, while other motorists were redirected.

Investigation Ongoing

The Greensboro Police Department continues to investigate the crash. No further details about the bicyclist or driver have been released at this time.
