
Greensboro, NC — Beloved actor David Furr, known for his role as Dashiell Montgomery in The Gilded Age, has joined the University of North Carolina Greensboro as Assistant Professor of Acting for the Camera. The Tony-, Drama Desk-, and SAG-nominated performer brings over 25 years of professional experience across Broadway, television, film, and voice work to the School of Theatre.
As announced by UNCG’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, Furr’s appointment highlights his extensive stage work, including Broadway revivals and acclaimed Shakespearean productions. He is also recognised for television roles on popular series and his audiobook narration, making him a versatile addition to the program’s acting for the camera curriculum.

In his new role, Furr will focus on coaching students in on-camera acting, storytelling, and industry-informed performance techniques, with an emphasis on authentic connection and career preparation. He expressed excitement about mentoring the next generation of actors at UNCG.
