Greensboro Police Increase Patrols, Warn Residents to Avoid All Downed Lines

Greensboro Police Increase Patrols

The Greensboro Police Department has increased patrols in areas vulnerable to severe storms and is urging residents to report any downed power lines immediately.

This follows recent incidents that come after a tree fell on power lines at the intersection of Battleground Avenue and Cotswold Avenue earlier today, sparking a small fire and knocking out nearby traffic signals. Emergency teams are currently on-site addressing the damage and restoring service.

City officials are warning residents to avoid all downed lines and remain alert for potential flooding due to heavy rainfall. Power outages should be reported directly to Duke Energy by calling 800-POWERON (769-3766).
