Greensboro urban ministry CEO  Launched an innovative program for the homeless

GREENSBORO,N.C.( WGHP)-   Greensboro Urban Ministry, led by CEO Brian Hahne, has launched an innovative program to address homelessness in Greensboro.

The  Greensboro urban  ministry CEO launched this program to ease the homeless challenge

The generous CEO said, “The community becomes stronger when Non-profits, Faith Organizations, government sector and neighbors work together as a team. The Urban CEO is tirelessly working things out, as there’s tangible evidence relating to his service. His organization’s most recent “big challenge” occurred in October, when the  interactive Resource center (IRC) announced, it’s essentially overwhelmed and was cutting back it’s hours. This organization has served the city’s homeless, since 2009 as a day center, where clients could come to take classes, get mail, meet with case manager and other activities, as there will no longer be a functional operation.

This challenge was during the intense cold winter months. The IRC serves as a warning center, where the homeless could come and warm-up but not having to stay for an extended period of time. Hahne who knew from experience that when it gets cold, the Greensboro urban ministry’s Weaver house shelter can turn into a warning shelter without the IRC’s warming center in operation. He  disclosed the finalized amount of $426,000 that will be given to the urban ministry to support the costs of running the church shelter and the additional 20 staffs members hired  to join the church shelter for the winter season, from Dec.- March ending.

Hahne said, he’s worried as the program will end on March 31ST, but they can start bringing in ideas, strategies and working towards that process now,  in the  spring and into the summer months as he hopes to expand the church shelters in the near future.

The expanded services will  ease management and support systems for individuals.
