(WGHP)- Jimmy Carter, the former U.S. president,has died at the age of 100, as confirmed by The Carter Center. He passed away on December 29, 2024, in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, after spending over 22 months in hospice care. Carter, who is said to be the 39th U.S. president and have served from 1977 to 1981, was the oldest living president and the first to reach the centennial mark. His post-presidency years were marked by significant humanitarian efforts, earning him the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his advocacy of democracy and human rights.

Jimmy Carter play some vital roles in some aspects during his life time, He was said to to a former Peanut farmer, who also served as the Georgia governor and a senator. He was a Navy Veteran. After leaving office, he went back to Georgia where he became famous activist. He built houses with Habitat for Humanity as well as offering services to God, in terms of leading the Sunday School in his 90s. This is indeed a life spent well. More so, no funeral arrangements have been made yet.
