RALEIGH, N.C. – A small kitchen fire in an apartment on Cantwell Court has resulted in the heartbreaking deaths of two young children, aged 1 and 4, early Sunday morning. Fire officials confirmed that the incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m., prompting a swift response from emergency services.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered a small fire that had erupted in the kitchen. Fortunately, the flames were quickly extinguished, but the aftermath was devastating. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported both children to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Tragically, both children succumbed to their injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital, as confirmed by the Raleigh Fire Department.
