
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was arrested after assaulting his father in Greensboro on Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a family disorder around 5:45 p.m. on Candlenut Road. When officers arrived, the victim told deputies he had gone to the home to perform a welfare check on his son, identified as 30-year-old Brandon Wayne Taylor.
Authorities say the welfare check quickly turned violent. According to investigators, Taylor physically assaulted his father multiple times before retrieving a gun from his vehicle. The victim was able to escape and call 911 for help.

Deputies say Taylor was later located outside the home near a wooded area and taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and booked into the Guilford County Detention Center under no bond.
Officials confirmed that a search warrant at the residence uncovered a firearm, several pounds of marijuana, and other narcotics. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
The case remains active, and more updates are expected as charges are finalized.
