GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Man shot, A homicide investigation is underway following the tragic shooting of a man early Saturday morning. The Greensboro Police Department reported that around 7 a.m., emergency services responded to a call about an individual down in the 2100 block of South Benbow Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Jawan Aunree Warren-Jackson, 37, unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a sombre moment for the community.
As police conducted their investigation, Benbow Road was closed to ensure the safety of the area and to facilitate the ongoing inquiry. Authorities have confirmed that Warren-Jackson’s next of kin have been notified about the incident.
