Mark Robinson, the North Carolina Republican gubernatorial candidate and current Lieutenant Governor, was hospitalized on Friday night after suffering second-degree burns during a campaign event in Mount Airy. His campaign spokesperson confirmed he is in “good spirits” and eager to resume campaigning soon.

This incident follows recent controversies surrounding Robinson, including allegations of past racist and sexist comments, which have led to significant staff resignations and diminished support within the party. Robinson’s disclosed in his campaign on Tuesday that he has hired Binnall Law group to lead an investigation regarding to the CNN report released about him in which Robinson denied the report, calling it slanderous defamation and usurious lie. The Lieutenant governor in a statement said, he won’t allow these false accusations against distract everyone from sharing a better future for their state.
