Missing North Carolina Man

BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Authorities are intensifying their efforts to locate a missing North Carolina man, identified as Brenden Lee Armstrong, who was last seen near the Hoggard Mill Road fishing pier in Bertie County.

According to the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Armstrong may have entered the Cashie River or Albemarle Sound in a green kayak sometime between Sunday, Oct. 26, and Monday, Oct. 27. Deputies say he was last spotted at the pier before disappearing.

On Tuesday morning, BCSO announced that a multi-agency search was underway. Surrounding county law enforcement agencies and state personnel have joined the effort to locate Armstrong. As part of the operation, a section of Hoggard Mill Road has been closed to the public.

Anyone who may have seen a white Jeep SUV parked near the Hoggard Mill Road fishing pier during that timeframe is asked to contact Investigator Dozier at 252-325-7386.

The search for Brenden Lee Armstrong remains active, and authorities are asking the public to share any information that could help bring him home safely.
