Road Rage Shooting: 1 Killed, 3 Children Uninjured in North Carolina Incident

LAKE NORMAN OF CATAWBA, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A tragic road rage shooting in North Carolina has left one man dead, while a Sherrills Ford resident is now in custody. The incident, which unfolded on Saturday, October 12, near Island Point Road and North View Harbour Drive, involved a confrontation between two drivers, resulting in gunfire.

Details of the Road Rage Shooting

According to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the scene shortly before 5 p.m. and discovered the victim, who had suffered fatal injuries, likely from gunfire. Witnesses reported that the confrontation escalated after both drivers exited their vehicles, at which point the alleged shooter fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle.

Children in the Vehicle During the Road Rage Shooting

The road rage shooting took a particularly alarming turn as the victim’s three children, aged 13, 11, and 2, were present in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Thankfully, the children were not physically harmed, though they were understandably shaken by the traumatic event.

Suspect Arrested in Connection with the Road Rage Shooting

Law enforcement quickly gathered a description of the suspect and his vehicle, leading to the arrest of 75-year-old Terrell Eugene Giddens. Authorities apprehended Giddens at a residence on the 9000 block of Island Point Road. He now faces charges of murder and three counts of attempted murder related to the road rage shooting. Giddens is currently being held without bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on Monday, October 14.
