
Authorities launched a search on Tuesday morning near Hardys Mill Pond in Guilford County, after a suspect connected to a stolen vehicle fled the area off US 29 in Greensboro.
Emergency crews in Guilford County are conducting an active search for a person believed to be near water following an incident on the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
The situation began when Greensboro police tracked a stolen vehicle to the 5900 block of Summit Avenue, just off US 29. Investigators say the vehicle’s tracking device led officers to the area, but the suspect abandoned the car and fled on foot.
