Shooting Outside of IRC in Greensboro Leaves One in Life-Threatening Injuries

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Police Department is currently investigating a serious shooting outside of the Interactive Resource Center (IRC) in downtown Greensboro early Wednesday morning.

Incident Details of the Shooting Outside of IRC

At approximately 3:19 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 400 block of East Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was immediately attended to by emergency responders on the scene, but the extent of their injuries has yet to be disclosed.

Crime scene tape and evidence markers were set up outside of the IRC at 407 East Washington Street. Officers could be seen going in and out of the building as they conducted their investigation. At this time, authorities have not released any information regarding a suspect or motive.

The IRC, known for providing a safe space and essential services to Greensboro’s homeless population, remains a central location in downtown Greensboro.
