According to the Greensboro Police Department (GPD), officers, along with Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS, responded to the scene near Ashland Drive and Tryon Street around 2:47 p.m. Crime scene investigators were also called in as authorities launched an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding Shelton’s tragic death.
Shelton’s disappearance had sparked concern for months, with loved ones describing her as a kind-hearted person who was always willing to help others. In February, a family member shared, “She is a good person and was always trying to help people. This isn’t like her.”
