WASHINGTON ( AP)- President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his pick for U.S. Attorney General, following the withdrawal of his other choice, Matt Gaetz from consideration due to controversies surrounding him.
Pam Bondi is going to make a change and ensure safety in America
Trump praised Bondi for her experience and loyalty, stating she would refocus the Department of Justice on fighting crime and ensuring safety. He said the Partisan department of justice has been weaponized against him and other Republican but that won’t happen happen anymore because Pam Bondi is going to make difference.
Bondi, who had been a longtime ally to Trump and one of his lawyers, served as Florida’s AG from 2011 to 2019, has been a prominent supporter, of Trump and was part of his legal team during his first impeachment trial, when he was accused but not convicted of abusing his power as he tried to condition US military assistance to Ukraine, Pam Bondi was among a group of republicans who showed up for Trump, her nomination requires Senate confirmation.
