GREENSBORO, N.C. — July 16, 2025

The Carolina Cowboys are riding into the final leg of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) season with one goal in sight: claiming the World Championship buckle.
Coached by bull riding legend Jerome Davis, the Cowboys have spent the season battling injuries, tough matchups, and stiff competition. Davis, a former world champion and founding member of PBR, brings decades of experience and a deep personal connection to the sport. For him, leading this team is more than strategy—it’s a legacy.
During their homestand, the Cowboys recently energised fans at the Greensboro Coliseum, where they faced off against the Arizona Ridge Riders. The weekend was part of “Cowboy Days,” and the atmosphere was electric. Returning to the lineup was six-time world champion Sage Kimzey, who missed earlier events due to injury. His presence gave the team a much-needed boost.
World Championship Buckle
With a 9–10 record, the Cowboys currently sit fifth in the PBR Teams Series standings. As the regular season winds down, they are positioning themselves for a strong playoff push and a chance to compete for the title in Las Vegas this October.
For the riders, the buckle represents more than just a championship—it’s a mark of excellence in one of the toughest sports in the world. And for North Carolina fans, it’s a chance to see their home team bring the honour back to where it all began.
